Mission: "Empower people and enhance organizations and communities in Hawaii and beyond by strengthening their human capital sustainability.."
Why we do what we do.
The history of Western colonization over the sovereign kingdom of Hawaiʻi still weighs heavy over its descendants. Kanaka ʻōiwi, the indigenous people of Hawaiʻi, have suffered from generations of displacement from land where their own ancestors' bones lay. Today, these underprivileged populations often suffer from a lack of support (whether it's youth struggling in school or parents fighting to keep their land while unable to understand legal jargon), healthy and culturally appropriate food (as locally-sourced organic produce just isn't affordable), or are stuck in a modern sedentary lifestyle (traditional lifestyles are what kept Hawaiians so fit). We all know the saying "time is money." Well, what if you have no time and no money? It is unfortunate to be stuck in these situations that we cannot control and so Kapule Organization wants to support these people. As an organization of native Hawaiians, we know best how to serve native Hawaiians. And that is by providing culturally appropriate services to nourish both your kino (body) and your mauli (spirit).
